JONATHAN WESTMAN, PH.D.
Dr. Jonathan Westman is a Psychological Assistant working under the supervision of Dr. Joel Becker. He received his B.A. in Psychology and History from Cornell University in 2013 and earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2021. As part of his training, Dr. Westman was a therapist for UCLA’s Depression Grand Challenge where he provided evidence-based care, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), to young adults struggling with mood, anxiety and sleep disorders. Dr. Westman completed a one-year, APA-accredited internship at the West Los Angeles VA, where he received more targeted training on evidence-based practices for treatment of substance use disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as mental health concerns related to physical health. Dr. Westman applies a holistic approach wherein each client’s cultural identity and lived experiences are valued throughout treatment.
